Eagles Win NCCAA Volleyball National Championship
Elgin, IL - The Judson University Eagles are national champions.
Judson captured the NCCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship in dominant fashion, sweeping Redeemer University in straight sets (25-22, 25-18, 25-16) inside Lindner Fitness Center on Saturday morning. They won the best of three series two wins to none.
The Eagles delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, hitting an efficient .308 as a team while holding Redeemer to just a .044 clip. After a competitive opening set, Judson steadily took control, using balanced offense and strong net play to close out the title in three.
Mason Snodgrass led the attack with 13 kills, while Reece Thompson added 8 kills on an impressive .462 hitting percentage.
Grant Shipley was nearly unstoppable, recording 6 kills on just 8 swings for a .750 clip, while also contributing at the net with five block assists.
Adrian Martinez orchestrated the offense with 19 assists, guiding a Judson attack that saw multiple players contribute throughout the match.
Defensively, the Eagles tallied 13 total blocks and 35 digs, with Jackson Otto leading the back row with 10 digs.
After pulling away late in set one, Judson controlled the tempo the rest of the way—building early leads in sets two and three and never allowing Redeemer to find a rhythm.
The championship caps off a great journey as the Lindner Center, and the campus of Judson hosted the inaugural two championships for the NCCAA in men's volleyball, with last year being the inaugural event, and this year culminating with a banner on the home floor.
The national championship win for men's volleyball is the first for the Eagles and is the second different sport to win an NCCAA title at Judson, with men's soccer having won seven NCCAA championships previously, the last coming in 2024.
Mason Snodgrass of Judson University was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Grant Shipley and Reece Thompson were also named to the All-Tournament team.
