Eagles Light Up A Good Friday Win
Elgin, IL – It was a Good Friday indeed as the Eagles came away with a much needed home victory on this holiday weekend. The Eagles picked up a strong home victory on Friday night, defeating Viterbo 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 19-25, 25-20) to earn another conference win.
Judson came out sharp, taking control early by winning the first two sets behind an efficient offensive attack. The Eagles hit .250 in the opening frame and followed it up with an even better .300 clip in set two, creating separation with balanced contributions across the lineup.
With a .303 hitting percentage in the final set, Judson closed the door and secured the win.
Mason Snodgrass led the Eagles offensively with 17 kills, adding three service aces and 22 total points in a well-rounded performance. Ramsey Vuorenmaa added 12 kills while hitting an efficient .320, and Reece Thompson chipped in nine kills.
The offense was orchestrated by Adrian Martinez and Matthew Leith, who combined for 44 assists, helping Judson hit .225 as a team.
Defensively, Jackson Otto anchored the back row with 15 digs, while the Eagles also contributed 14 total blocks to disrupt the Viterbo attack.
With the win, Judson improves to 9-18 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
They have one more week to go in the regular season, with next Saturday afternoon being the final home match, and senior day as JU takes on Trinity Christian.
