Eagles Fall In Five
Gary, IN - In their third match of the week, the Eagles traveled across the border to IU Northwest. Determined to end the week on a winning note, Judson took the first set 25-17.
Needing a win to stay in the playoff hunt, JU fell down two sets to one after IU took the second and third sets.
The Eagles battled back to tie things with a set four win 25-18.
But in set five, the Redhawks pulled ahead and closed things out winning 15-10. With the setback, Judson came up short in all three of their matches on the week. They now stand at 5-10 overall, and 3-8 in conference play. JU is currently outside of the top 8 seeds with eight games remaining.
In the five set decision, Maisie Green led with 12 kills, freshmen Alyssa Burke added 11. Burke also had four of the team's six service aces.
Alina Romero set up her teammates with 21 assists on the afternoon. Camila Fundora had 23 digs.
In the fifth set, IU really got the advantage by taking the first five points in the race to 15. It is the Eagles second fifth set loss in the last five games. JU is 2-2 in five set matches this year.
The Eagles will try to get back in the win column on Tuesday when they host Calumet.
