Elgin, IL - The battered and bruised Eagles played host to the rival Cougars of St. Xavier on Thursday night.
With the injuries seemingly piling up, the Eagles came out strong by taking the first set in a big way 25-16.
Having to lead the battered front line, Maisie Green and Ariadna Marquez both had double digit kills on the night.
St. Xavier made a comeback by taking sets two and three. Then JU won set four to push the match to the fifth and final set.
Also stepping up for the Eagles were Natalie Dalton and Alyssa Burke each with nine kills. With injuries to Jaclyn Riedl, Mya Williams, and Issy Nick, added workloads will be placed upon the rest of the flock.
Judson had the fifth set in hand 14-13. However, with one elusive point away from the win, St. Xavier was able to reel off three straight points to claim the final set and match.
The Eagles saw Alina Romero lead with 24 assists, and Camila Fundora with 27 digs.
JU stands at 4-7 overall, and 2-5 in conference play.
