Eagles Score First Conference Win
Elgin, IL - After two somewhat surprising losses to open up conference play, the Eagles were back at it at home against conference new-comer Mount Mary University.
Mount Mary University is located in Milwaukee, WI, and joined the CCAC Conference as a full-time member in all women's sports. This match was the very first time Judson has hosted Mount Mary in any sport.
The Eagles got off to a nice start winning the first two sets. In their first two conference matches, both on the road, JU had dropped those first two sets to get behind on things.
Jaclyn Riedl and Maisie Green had great games, as their teammates were able to set them up consistently for some big time smashes. Riedl had 11 kills to lead the team, while Green added nine more. Riedl also had 14 digs good for the team high. Green had three of the team's 11 service aces in the game.
Alina Romero played a nice game with 22 assists to lead her team. Off of the bench, Andreah Cisneros added 11 assists.
Mount Mary was able to battle back to take the third set, and nearly pushed the game to a fifth set after an early lead in set four.
However, Judson was able to comeback in the fourth set. After trailing 6-1, and 8-4, JU was able to slowly, but surely real in the Blue Angels. Mya Williams had some key points in the final set to help seal the victory.
The Eagles are now 3-3 on the year, and 1-2 in conference play.
They will host Viterbo and Olivet Nazarene in back-to-back games next week.
