Eagles Compete For Conference Championships
Bourbonnais, IL - The Eagles competed in the CCAC Conference Indoor Championships over the weekend. In what is likely the final indoor race of the season before runners begin their outdoors slate, the Eagles posted some positive marks.
In the 200 meters, Caleya Holmes ran a 26.96 time, that just missed reaching the final heat. For the prelims, she finished in 10th place.
Holmes experienced the same fate in the 400 meters as she again placed 10th with a time of 1:03.18, just missing the top-8 finals.
Senior McKinze Kearfott finished in 10th place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:41.08 also just missing the final round.
In the field events, Aayla-Marie Adams competed in the long jump, one of her two signature events, and finished in 6th place. Her best mark was 5.13 meters which came on her final attempt.
In her other event, the triple jump, Adams finished in the runner up spot with a high mark of 10.94 meters.
Coming in a few weeks, the outdoor track season will kick off.
