Davenport, IA The Judson Women's Soccer team faced off against St. Ambrose in the quarterfinal of the CCAC tournament. A quick goal out early in the first half kept the Eagle's hopes of advancing high. The Bees were able to score two to the Eagles one in the second half forcing overtime. Within the first half of overtime, the Bees sealed the deal sending the Eagles home with a 2-3 loss.
With 15 total shots in the match, the Eagles kept constant pressure to eventually force a goal in the 11th minute by Kelly Leon. She was able to curl the ball perfectly around the goalie and place it in the bottom left corner of the net. Her efforts in attack allowed her to finish with 4 shots and 2 of them being on goal. Alondra Blanco also had her name on the score sheet scoring an unassisted goal in the 84th minute putting the Eagles up 2-1. Quickly following the Bees scored forcing overtime. Morgan Olsen had the goal gloves on for Judson and was tested six times during the match-saving three of them. The back-and-forth battle indeed was a tough match for both sides untimely ending in the Eagles exiting the tournament.
Although the CCAC tournament, the Judson Women's Soccer Team finished with a record of 9-8-1 gaining a spot in the NCCAA tournament, and are currently awaiting their first opponent.
