Women Finish 6th, Men 11th in CCAC Championships
Bettendorf, IA The Judson University Cross Country teams participated in the CCAC championships on Saturday. The women finished 6th of 13 teams, while the men finished 11th of 13.
The women's team finished with a total time of 1:45:14 in the 5k race, an average of 21:02 per runner. Chloe Burkhart (JR/Elgin, IL) was Judson's top runner with a time of 19:56.5, which was 18th overall. Marie Mayer (SO/Hampshire, IL) finished with a total time of 20:21.8, which was 27th. Anali Cisneros (JR/Elgin, IL) finished 48th with a total time of 21:10.3. Fatima Chaudhry (JR/Lombard, IL ) had a total time of 21:30.4, good enough for 60th.
This was the first time this season that the men's team fielded enough runners to have an overall team score. The Eagles had a total time of 2:45:52 for the 8k race, an average of 33:10. Josef Sipiorski (SR/Algonquin, IL) was the team leader with a time of 28:41.8, which was 50th overall. Matthew Thompson (SO/Mount Horeb, WI) finished with a time of 31:21.1, an 86th-place finish. Michael Mikhail (JR/Elgin, IL) was 95th with a time of 32:13.2. Francisco Villanueva had a time of 36:22.2 to finish 116th. Kyle Sieb (JR/Lake in the Hills, IL ) and Ben Simpson (JR/Lena, IL ) finished 118th and 119th respectively with times of 37:13.8 and 38:04.6.
Judson will send runners to the NCCAA championships in Point Lookout, Missouri on Saturday.
