Eagles Get Top Ten Finish At Warhawk
Addison, IL - This past weekend the Judson Eagles competed at the Warhawk Open this past weekend.
On the Men's Varsity side this team continues to grow as they finished 9th just out of the top 8 cutline. This team was super consistent the entire event in which the low team game was 922 and high game was 956 on Saturday in finishing day 1 in 13th place.
Then Sunday this team went on a major run climbing the ladder all the way to 9th with consistent baker sets throughout and a massive 892 set with games of 248, 247, 228, 169 to take the team up to a 9th place finish.
Led by Freshman standout Carson Reid who averaged a super solid 211 on the weekend in which he was 95% on single pins and 81% on multipins as well as striking 55% of the time on the weekend. This was Carson's best event in his early Eagle career and sets him up for a great 2nd half of the season.
Sophomore Woodley Dangerfield came off the bench and gave us a big lift averaging 193 for his 3 games on Saturday he was also 94% on single pins and 78% on multipins as well as an overall fill percentage of 89%!
Freshman standout Jeremy Gasca averaged 189 for his 5 games and was 70% on multipins and struck 52% of the time on the weekend. Freshman standout Brayland Carpenter had another solid weekend averaging 189 and striking 44% of the time.
Freshman Kaelexx Oats averaged 172 on the weekend and was 80% on single pins and struck 41% of the time, and Senior Eric Roberts was 85% on single pins and struck 40% of the time on the weekend. This give this team a bunch of momentum heading into the 2nd half of this season.
With 4 Freshman varsity players and 1 sophomore player the future is extremely bright for this young team!
On the Men's JV1 side they were able to have a 7th place finish. This team was consistent all tournament long as well as had tremendous team chemistry!
Led by Sophomore Toby Wamsley who averaged 202 for his 5 game total on Saturday which included a high game of 287 and the first 10 strikes! Freshman standout Matt Fishman averaged 195 on the weekend and was 76% on multipins and struck 45% of the time on the weekend.
Sophomore Jeremy Martinez was super solid averaging 184 on the weekend with 82% on single pins and 60% on multipins on the weekend. Sophomore Noah Moreno averaged 180 on the weekend and was 81% on single pins and 73% on multipins on the weekend and Senior Adan Cabezudo averaged 172 on the weekend and was 73% on single pins and struck 36% of the time.
This young squad also put up some great numbers and continues to show promise for the future.
On the Men's JV2 side they were able to come with a top 15 finish. This team had some big games throughout the event and brought tons of energy to the event!
Led by Freshman standout De'Vyn Franklin who averaged 198 for his 5 games on Saturday he continues to show signs of his potential! De'Vyn has continued to improve and brings a passion to the game that electrifies the team! Senior Connor Richmond averaged 190 for his 4 games on the weekend and was 81% on single pins and struck 48% of the time.
Senior Parker Morris was solid averaging 185 for his 5 games and was 77% on single pins and struck 40% of the time on the weekend. Freshman Kadin Horton was 65% on multipins, Freshman Zach Poling was 71% on single pins, and Sophomore Aiden Schwichow struck 33% of the time on the weekend.
This team continues to grow and is set up to have a great second half of the season!
The Warhawk concludes our first half of the season and our next event is January 10-11 at the Storm Baker Challenge in Addison, IL.
